Modern design. Traditional artistry. Self-taught skills passed down through generations.

A leather goods brand that is not about the brand, but the AMBITION stitched and weaved into the fiber of each product.

Sarep & Rose is the anti-brand brand. We are not here to become a trend. We are not here to become an "it" bag and accessories brand for the sake of being so, or for validation. We are here to share the raw talent of largely self-taught artisans from all over the African continent with you. But this is about much more than looking good.

Read our story.

The Guinean writer Camara Laye wrote  " Sometimes only the spirit of a tradition survives; sometimes only its form. Its outer garments, as it were, remain.” Professor Victoria Rovine wrote that rather than traditional garments today being a loss of cultural significance, it serves as a comforting reminder that a deep rooted, binding tradition has simply evolved into a new form of relevance.

Each of these accessories are made by artisans from one of the worlds oldest nomadic tribes, the Fulani tribe, famous for their rich pastoral history and leatherworking skills. The traditions of leatherwork began with desert tent-making, saddle wear, foot wear and weaponry. Today, it is making its way to you in the form of these multi-functional accessories for all global citizens.

Made in Africa, these leather handbags and wallets are carefully stitched, woven, and pressed by hand. Foot pedaled sewing machines, craft knives, rulers and endless hours of concentration replace the mass-producing machines that have taken over our 'fast fashion' industry today. Here at Sarep and Rose, each product is an individual piece with an individual story.

Our bag makers are businesspeople, self-taught in their talent and their desire to provide for their communities in the midst of tough circumstances and challenging histories. They are not 'just' our suppliers, they are our partners.

This isn't charity, it's just fair business.

Thank you for wanting to become part of their story.
